Rohan Ma

Rohan leads Energy Optimization at Tesla with responsibility for Tesla’s economic dispatch solutions across its energy products globally. These solutions are actively managing over 500MWhs of stationary storage today across utility, commercial, residential and microgrid applications. Prior to Tesla, Rohan was Solar City’s Senior Director of Grid Engineering Solutions, where he designed and developed some of the world’s first storage ‘value stacking’ solutions at scale, using behind-the-meter batteries to deliver grid services. Rohan came to Solar City from the energy procurement division at Pacific Gas & Electric, where he developed valuation methodologies for over 2GW of utility-scale storage in California. At PG&E, he collaborated with California’s Independent System Operator (CAISO) market on the design of new flexibility products to address high-penetration renewable integration challenges. Rohan has an Economics degree from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and a MBA from University of California, Berkeley.
